Bromley gave a most suspicious start to the War Weapons Week on Saturday.  Munificent subscriptions for investment in Government securities were notified early in the day.

Then amid enthusiastic cheers the Mayor, Councillor H. Lynch-Watson J.P., the president of the Week, announced to the large and influential gathering at the inaugural luncheon in the White Hart Hotel that the total subscription at noon on the first day was £202,434 towards the target of £250,000.
