On 9th February, 1917, the showing of the silent film, Davy Crockett was advertised; a magnificent drama in five parts. In those days the films were shown continuously on Saturdays from 2pm to 10.15 pm and two performances on other days.

Davy Crockett

Davy Crockett is a 1916 American silent film starring Dustin Farnum as Davy Crockett, and tells the story of the famous Tennessee frontiersman, soldier, scout, and Congressman who fought and died at the Alamo. The film was directed by William Desmond Taylor and produced by Pallas Pictures. It is not known if the original film still exists.

Dustin Farnum was an American leading man of silent pictures who specialized in Westerns. His film career spanned 22 years, in which he featured in 42 films between 1914 and 1926. He died of kidney failure in 1929, aged just 55 years old.
