Gunner Ernest Nelms

He was with the Royal Field Artiller.

A shell from one of the enemy’s large guns fell close to the gun that Nelms was serving and devastated all around inflicting terrible injuries, who was close to death when he left the field.

He was reported to have a sister, Mrs A Jinks living in Kingston, Ontario

His fiancee, Miss Florence King, of Parkside, Wimbledon also received news from a comrade.
